2024 CFL Combine Preview: Event Details, Top Prospects to Watch

Daniel Okpoko worked his way up the depth chart at San Diego State to become a full-time starter last year on the defensive line. Okpoko finished with 23 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three pass deflections and five quarterback hurries in 12 games. He enters the CFL Draft season as one of the more athletic defensive linemen, and the 15th ranked prospect according to the Scouting Bureau Winter rankings.

In Justin Sambu’s four seasons at Maine, he posted 59 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. He transferred to Baylor for his senior season and appeared in 12 games on the field goal team, contributing two tackles. Sambu enters the draft ranked 14th on the Scouting Bureau Winter rankings, possessing the same pass rushing skills that Okpoko had in college.

Ajou Ajou is a big play receiver with great size and speed, making him dangerous on offense. His college career was split between Garden City CC, Clemson and South Florida. Ranked at 17th in the Scouting Bureau Winter rankings, he’s a deep-threat receiver and a solid route runner — a desirable combo.

Kevin Mital began his college career at Syracuse in 2019 before transferring to Laval University in Quebec City. He performed well at the school, earning All-Canadian selections in 2021 and 2022. He enters the draft as the 20th-ranked prospect on the Scouting Bureau Winter rankings.

Another Laval player, Nathaniel Dumoulin-Duguay enters the draft as the 18th best prospect, according to the Scouting Bureau Winter rankings. At left guard, Dumoulin-Duguay possesses strong pass blocking skills and the ability to pull quickly on outside runs. He is the ninth-ranked offensive lineman in the draft.
