CFL Reveals Winter Negotiation Lists, Including Plenty SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 Stars
All nine CFL teams have their list of American players who have been added to their negotiation list.
The league announced on Tuesday ten players for each of the nine teams. This is something the league has done twice a year in September and December since the winter of 2018.
The CFL.ca league by-laws state that teams can claim exclusive rights to up to 45 players by adding them to the negotiation list. Teams are free to sign, release, or trade any of the players on their list.
The reigning 2023 CFL Most Outstanding Player, Toronto Argonauts’ quarterback Chad Kelly, is one of the notable players who has been on the list in the past. Others include receiver Tim White, quarterback Jake Meier, and quarterback Dustin Crum.
The biggest name on the list, arguably, is Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson, who just completed his fifth and final season with the Razorbacks. Jefferson finished his career with 7,911 passing yards and 67 touchdowns to 18 interceptions adding 1,876 rushing yards and 21 touchdowns.
