Grey Cup Injury Report: Blue Bombers Get Jackson Jeffcoat Back

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are hoping for good news on their injured players going into Friday's final Grey Cup workout.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers remain the more banged-up team going into Sunday’s Grey Cup, though they did get one player back into practice on Thursday.

Thursday’s injury report saw the Blue Bombers get defensive lineman Jackson Jeffcoat back into workouts as he was a full participant. He missed Wednesday’s workout with a hip injury.

Getting Jeffcoat back into workouts gives the Blue Bombers one of their more experienced defenders, as the former University of Texas standout is in his sixth CFL season. He has 21 tackles in 14 games, but he hasn’t played since Oct. 21 against the Edmonton Elks.

Dalton Schoen was among four members of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers who missed practice Thursday in preperation for the Grey Cup.

The Blue Bombers have one more practice on Friday before getting Saturday off entering Sunday’s championship. By Friday, they should know more about the four players that missed Thursday’s workout due to injury — wide receiver Dalton Schoen (ankle), wide receiver Nic Demski (wide receiver), linebacker Adam Bighill (calf), wide receiver Rasheed Bailey (knee) and linebacker Kyrie Wilson (hip).

None of them practiced on Wednesday.

Getting any of those receivers back would be a boon for the Bombers. But both Schoen and Demski were 1,000-yard receivers for Winnipeg this season before their injuries put them on the shelf in October.

Schoen was close before the West Division final, as he was considered a game-time decision.

The Montreal Alouettes had several players on the report listed with injuries but they were full participants for the second straight day — offensive lineman Sean Jamieson (knee), offensive lineman Pier-Olivier Lestage (knee), defensive back Zach Lindley (head), wide receiver Chandler Worthy (ankle) and defensive lineman Marcus Valdez (ankle).

The Alouettes added two players to the report on Thursday, both of which were limited — defensive lineman Shawn Lemon (illness) and offensive lineman Nick Callender (hand).
