Winnipeg Blue Bombers Re-Sign DB Redha Kramdi
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are focused on retaining some of their top talent for 2024, reporting that one of their former draft picks will stay in-house for the next two seasons.
Defensive back Redha Kramdi and the Blue Bombers agreed to a two-year contract extension to keep him there through 2025, the team announced Tuesday.
Kramdi was a second-round draft pick of Winnipeg in the 2021 CFL Draft. The former University of Montreal alumni only played seven games in 2021, racking up one special teams tackle.
He saw an increase in playing time in 2022, finishing with nine defensive tackles and seven special teams tackles in 17 games.
Kramdi's breakout season came in 2023, when was elevated to starter and took over the Dime position. He played in 14 games, starting in 11, and finished the regular season with 22 defensive tackles, six special teams tackles and two sacks. He also contributed two total tackles in the team's Grey Cup loss.
Kramdi is the third player so far to be re-signed this offseason by Winnipeg, which is also bringing back defensive lineman Willie Jefferson and offensive lineman Patrick Neufeld. The Blue Bombers still have 33 players who are pending free agents in February.
