Hogs Make More Portal Offers; Interesting Transfer Visits
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Day two of activity in the transfer portal is done and Arkansas showed interest or offered a few intriguing prospects. While things seem to be moving well with the targets noted from day one, the next day showed plenty of promise. There has also been some key movement for the Razorbacks as they will make a pair of in-home visits with two intriguing offensive pieces. Keep tabs with every offer the Hogs make in the transfer portal with our comprehensive list.
Josh Kelly, Washington State
Once Kelly finds a home, he'll be competing in his sixth year of college football in 2024. The former Fresno State receiver turned Washington State stud is considered a top ten prospect at his position in this portal class. He has been quite productive over his career recording 148 receptions for 2,228 yards and 12 touchdowns. Kelly led the team in receiving yards (923) and yards per catch (15.1).
Kelly reportedly visited Notre Dame on Tuesday and his next scheduled trip will be to Texas Tech on December 11, per Pete Nakos of On3.
Geno Vandemark, Michigan State
After starting nine games as a redshirt sophomore, VanDemark decided to enter the transfer portal in November. The 6-foot-5, 325 pound guard was a 3-star out of high school in New Jersey. He will have two years left of eligibility.
Matthew Skula, Holy Cross
The FCS phenom quarterback threw for over 5,000 yards in his career with an additional 3,600 yards on the ground. Gaining the signature of such an athlete will be a steep test with Baylor, Duke, Kansas, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington State also vying for his abilities. With the recent hire of Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator, the staff has made it known they want to bring in a transfer to the quarterback room. Petrino's rich history and the Razorbacks knack of pulling in transfer signal callers could put them in a race for Skula.
Maddux Trujillo, Austin-Peay
The Razorbacks have now given well wishes to three year kicker Cam Little who announced his desire to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. That leaves Arkansas searching for a new kicker with a sledgehammer of a leg. Trujillo, an Austin Peay transfer, knocked down 13-15 field goal attempts in 2023 with a long of 45 yards. Despite a shaky start through the first two games missing two point after attempts, Trujillo knocked down 48-50 attempts for the season
Ryan Coe, North Carolina
Coe was sort of a utility special teams kicker doing it all last season. He shared time with kickoff duties and field goal units finishing with nine touchbacks on 12 attempts. When called upon for field goals, Coe finished 3-4 with a long of 47 yards.
Notable Visits
Arkansas will be in the home of North Texas transfer center, Ethan Miner on Wednesday morning for a visit from new offensive line coach Eric Mateos, per Riley McFerran of HawgBeat.
Miner's teammate, quarterback Chandler Rogers will have an in-home visit with Arkansas' staff and Bobby Petrino on Wednesday evening, per Riley McFerran. Rogers threw for Rogers threw for 3,383 yards and 29 TDs against five interceptions. He can get it done on the ground as well rushing for 200 yards and four touchdowns for the Mean Green. The transfer quarterback led the North Texas offense to a No. 6 in yards per game at 496. They finished ranked No. 22 in points per game with 35.
