Two former Auburn Tigers had double-doubles in the NBA

Two former Auburn Tigers are developing into young stars in the NBA.

Now that the NBA All-Star Break is past, there aren't that many games left in the regular season of the NBA.

For the first time in a long time, Auburn has a handful of players in the NBA, and all of the thanks for this is due to Bruce Pearl. He has brought the Auburn basketball program to a spot where the Tigers are landing top recruits and turning them into NBA Draft picks.

Last night in the NBA, two former Tigers had a good showing as both Jabari Smith Jr. and Walker Kessler recorded double-doubles. Smith Jr. had 18 points and 13 rebounds in the Houston Rockets 112-95 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Kessler had 14 points and 12 rebounds in the Utah Jazz's loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

Smith Jr's head coach, Ime Udoka, had this to say about the former Auburn Tiger after his 22 points and 16 rebound performance against the Phoenix Suns: "The rebounding numbers, his activity has been great. He has been aggressive with taking the shots opponents are giving him. The break did him well. But I think his mindset has been pretty well during the second half of the season."

Both of these former Tigers had a good game last night, but Smith Jr. has been incredible in his last three games. In his last three games, Smith Jr. is averaging 20 points and 14.3 rebounds. It seems like Smith Jr. is fully confident, and if he keeps playing like this, the former Tiger will raise all of his averages before the season ends.
