Deion Sanders says "Santa Claus doesn't have time to enjoy his cookies" when asked about soaking up success
Deion Sanders was in rare form at Tuesday's press conference. The Colorado Buffaloes coach took several questions from the media about the Rocky Mountain Showdown with CSU and his assessment thus far. He was asked with all the successful things happening around him if he stopped to enjoy the moment. As you can guess, his answer would be 'no', but he channeled his inner Mike Leach with the response.
"I don't have time to enjoy the moment," Sanders said. Santa doesn't have time. He's got to deliver the gifts. He doesn't have time to enjoy his cookies. That's all he gets. I don't have time for that." I've got to keep this machine going and make sure we're locked in and focused on the right things."
It's great to see Coach Prime break up the seriousness a bit. He was asked by a reporter about Matt Rhule's pregame stunt, which the Nebraska coach later claimed he invited Shedeur Sanders to pray. There wasn't much of a response other than "Turn the page. It's time to move on to Colorado State."
Colorado looks to keep the Centennial Cup in Boulder when they face CSU on Saturday. A non-conference after dusk meeting for the Buffs and Rams at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
