Prior to the 2023-2024 college basketball season, Georgia head coach Mike White went searching into the transfer portal for contributors, and found a gem in guard Noah Thomasson. The grad transfer moved from Niagara Purple Eagles to Georgia for a final season, and has now officially declared for the 2024 NBA draft.
This past season, Thomasson averaged 13.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 40 percent from the field. His most notable game came against the Florida Gators when he dropped 26 points and drilled five three-pointers. During his time with Georgia, he had five different games in which he scored 20 or more points.
In Mike White's second season as Georgia's head coach, Thomasson played a crucial role in helping the program win 20 games for the first time since 2015 and make the round of final four in the NIT tournament. A major contributor that only played one season at Georgia, but had a massive impact that will continue to help the program build off of a huge season.
Thomasson took to Twitter to bid one last farewell to Dawg Nation and to speak about just how much the one season meant to him. Here is what he wrote:
"Dear Dawg Nation... It was an honor to play for you. Thank you for the amazing year. You all gave me countless memories that I will never forget. A special thank you to Coach Mike White, Coach Pastrana and the rest of the coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to wear the G on my chest. To my teammates, thank you for the unforgettable season. I couldn't have done it without you guys. I am grateful to be part of the Georgia family and excited for my next chapter. Thank you. 3 out."
