INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indiana Hoosiers hosted the Harvard Crimson at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Sunday and earned an 89-76 victory. The Hoosiers are now 5-1 and head into a brutal stretch in early December, with games against Maryland, Michigan, Auburn and Kansas.
Indiana center Kel'el Ware had his best game so far this season, leading the team with 28 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Freshman forward Mackenzie Mgbako had a breakout game with a season-high 18 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore forward Malik Reneau battled through a back injury but still had an outstanding performance, contributing 17 points, four rebounds and five assists.
Xavier Johnson left the game early with an apparent foot or ankle injury. His status for Friday's Big Ten opener against Maryland at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall is uncertain.
