After an initial few weeks to the offseason with Kansas fans worried the Jayhawks weren’t making headway in the transfer portal, the first piece of the puzzle is now in place as Towson sharpshooter Nicholas Timberlake committed to KU on Wednesday.

Timberlake has been in college since the 2018-19 season, all with Towson. Last year, Timberlake averaged 17.7 points per game while shooting nearly 42% from three. But that was far from the only skill he possessed. The guard is 6-4, 205 and also shot nearly 50% from two-point range last year on 6.4 attempts per game while also grabbing 3.9 rebounds and dishing out 2.4 assists.

The transfer also visited UCONN and UNC but ultimately decided to call Lawrence home for his final year of college. This is a big get for a Jayhawks team who is looking to replace a lot at the guard position, starting with freshman phenom Gradey Dick.

Timberlake likely won’t be the last of the transfer portal members to come to Kansas, as Bill Self is still looking to bring in another wing and big man. In the meantime, KU fans can get plenty of Justin Timberlake content in, starting with the official KU hoops Twitter account
