As SEC opponents, the Tigers and Wildcats are no strangers of one another. They also finished with similar records in both the conference and overall, with LSU being slightly better. The Tigers were 19-10 in the SEC and 46-15 overall, while the Wildcats were 16-14 in the SEC and 40-19 overall.
They also met for a three-game series earlier in the year.
