Kentucky picked to be a six-seed in Joe Lunardi's recent Bracketology update
The Kentucky Wildcats had a week full of high highs and low lows, with a win over at the time #8 Miami and a loss to UNC Wilmington.
We already discussed how the loss to UNC Wilmington hurt the Cats in the NET rankings, and now the same can be said about Bracketology.
Joe Lunardi updated his Bracketology, and Kentucky dropped down to a six-seed, which is an incredible swing for the Cats in the wrong direction.
Had Kentucky beaten the Seahawks on Saturday, they would likely have been a three or even two-seed in the updated Bracketology thanks to the big win over Miami, but the loss cost the Cats big.
It's not the end of the world, but Kentucky can't lose another game like this to a Quad 3 or Quad 4 opponent, or their chances of being a high seed will be in jeopardy.
Kentucky will have plenty of opportunities to win Quad 1 and Quad 2 games this season, so winning them will boost the Cats in the NET rankings, KenPom, and Bracketology.
These rankings liking the Cats will be a big deal when it comes to seeding here in a few months.
This loss to UNC Wilmington taught the Cats a valuable lesson that all of the games, including ones against lesser opponents are important and losses in games like this, will kill you.
