Kentucky Reportedly Welcoming Pair of 2023 3-Stars for Visits
Needing bodies in the worst way, Kentucky may finally be making progress in the depth department ahead of the 2023-24 season, though it may not be adding experience.
On Saturday, Stadium's Jeff Goodman reported that Joey Hart, a 3-star recruit in the 2023 class, is planning on making a visit to Kentucky:
Coming out of Linton-Stockton High School in Linton, Ind., Hart is the No. 268 player, No. 61 shooting guard and No. 9 player out of Indiana in the class, per the On3 Consensus. Hart de-committed from UCF in the middle of May after committing back in August 2022. Goodman also reports that Indiana and Rutgers are "in the mix" for the two-guard.
Later Saturday night, 247Sports' Travis Branham brought another name to Big Blue Nation's attention — former Ole Miss signee Jordan Burks, who is also reportedly taking a visit to Lexington in the coming days:
Burks, also a 3-star, is ranked as the No. 172 player and No. 35 small forward, coming out of Hillcrest Prep in Phoenix, though he hails from Kissimmee, Fla. After committing to Ole Miss in August 2022, signing his NLI in November, he de-committed in March 2023.
Neither Hart nor Burks are exactly needle movers, considering the caliber of the five freshmen that are arriving on UK's campus this week, but head coach John Calipari needs bodies in the worst way, and both players carry traits that could turn into something down the road.
Options are slim, so the Wildcats are trying to take what they can get, as they continue to swing and miss in the transfer portal.
