Where is Kentucky in ESPN's latest Bracketology Report?
John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats went 1-1 this past week, falling in overtime to Texas A&M on the road and winning at home against Mississippi State. Despite the loss, and in a week where nearly every Top 25 team fell, Kentucky still dropped to a No. 3 seed in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology Report for ESPN.
Kentucky is projected as a three seed in the East Region, where they would start the tournament in Pittsburgh facing a No. 14 seed in Vermont out of the America East Conference.
The rest of the pod includes No. 6 seed Florida Atlantic, who went to the Final 4 last year, facing No. 11 seed Nebraska. Elsewhere in the region there is the defending champion UConn Huskies as the No. 1 seed, a North Carolina team Kentucky beat earlier this year as a No. 2 seed, and fellow SEC foe Ole Miss as an No. 8 seed.
The SEC has eight total teams in the field, two behind the Big 12 but two more than the Big Ten and Big East, who each have six.
In addition to Kentucky and Ole Miss, the SEC is also represented by Tennessee (2), Auburn (3), Alabama (4), Texas A&M (9), Mississippi State (9), and South Carolina, currently listed among the last four in.
Kentucky will get a chance to move up a seed line when they take on Georgia on Saturday at 6:00 PM ET, followed by a road trip to South Carolina on Tuesday to face the Gamecocks at 7:00 PM ET.
Both games will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
