Miami Has More QB Recruiting Decisions After Anderson Commitment
The Miami Hurricanes gained the verbal commitment of Judd Anderson on Friday evening. The 6-foot-7 and 220-pound passer from Gray (Ga.) Jones County visited Miami’s Thursday practice and that sealed the deal for the Canes.

The rising senior prospect is an athletic young man that has shown he possesses the arm to make plays from one sideline of the gridiron to the other. He also committed as his stock was seemingly on the rise.
But will Anderson be the only quarterback Miami signs?
After Anderson’s commitment, the UM faithful has to think about what’s next for offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, head coach Mario Cristobal, and the Canes. Miami could, and will be expected to, sign two prep signal callers like it was originally set to do with the 2023 class when Emory Williams and Jaden Rashada were in the fold at the same time.
Based on the information available, here were a few thoughts that came to mind on that very subject.
On Saturday, it’s likely Ohio State will gain the commitment of top Miami quarterback target Prentice Air Noland from Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes. He’s been a priority for Miami for quite some time, and has held offers from other top schools across the country like Clemson, Auburn, Alabama and Texas A&M, among others.
Some of the other class of 2024 high school quarterbacks that Miami has continued to be involved with, while still not being committed elsewhere, included the following players.
[Ranking comes from 247 Sports composite]
Michael Van Buren, Baltimore (Md.) St. Francis (128)
Luke Moga, Phoenix (Ariz) Sunnyslope (582/Visited UM)
A.J. Hairston, Coconut Creek (Fla.) Monarch (NR/Visited UM)
Alberto Mendoza, Miami (Fla.) Columbus (1,216)/Visited UM)
Miami has offered several other signal callers that committed to other schools, too, and that means one should not rule out The U eventually signing a player that’s not being discussed right now like South Carolina commitment Dante Reno or even Texas A&M pledge Anthony Maddox.
Additionally, there will almost certainly be multiple options via the Transfer Portal for quarterbacks with one or multiple years of eligibility. A high school riser late in the cycle could also become one to consider.
Regardless of the next step, Miami quarterback recruiting took the first big step forward in adding a critical piece to the puzzle with Anderson. Many options remain for how the Hurricanes could add an additional passer to the 2024 roster.
