WATCH: MSU's Aidan Chiles' Hilarious Take On Michigan Weather
Spring weather in Michigan has MSU transfer quarterback Aidan Chiles, a California native, feeling some type of way...
By every account we've heard, Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles is adjusting well to life in East Lansing. At least, in every way except for one.
Last week, Chiles commented on the coldness of spring weather in Michigan, and after being told we actually had a fairly warm winter by our state's standards, the California native had a pretty funny response. Take a look...
"Spring weather is terrible right now, that's what it is," Chiles joked, before taking on a more serious tone. "It's fun, man. It's just fun learning your new teammates, learning how to adapt to what we overcome right now. It's going to be fun the rest of spring, and we're going to have fun all spring."
In addition to getting used to new teammates, Chiles and the rest of the transfers Michigan State added this offseason are getting used to a new campus as well. The quarterback found MSU to be a little more difficult to navigate than Oregon State.
"For sure, a big campus," Chiles said. "I got lost the first day on campus, but I wouldn't say it's been too difficult. The biggest thing is the cold. The cold is terrible."
Chiles was then notified that, as far as Michigan winters go, we had a pretty mild winter overall, and the spring weather he has witnessed so far is about as good as it gets in the ol' Mitten State.
"What? Whoa ... Alright, well, that's really the biggest thing," Chiles said. "After that, I mean, football is going to be football. It's a game, we all play it, we're competitive, we do what we do because we love what we do. It wasn't too much of a transition, for real. It was just moving to a different state."
Michigan State fans shouldn't worry too much about Chiles' reaction to the cold weather, however. After all, the sophomore played in middle-of-nowhere Oregon throughout last fall and experienced a torrential downpour during the Beavers' 22-20 home loss to Washington last November. The California kid might prefer a few extra degrees on the thermometer, but playing football in cold weather is nothing Chiles isn't used to.
