
Gophers women's hockey head coach has 'medical situation,' will miss weekend series
Longtime Gophers women's hockey head coach Brad Frost will miss this weekend's games due to a "medical situation," according to the University.
Associate head coach Greg May will serve as the acting head coach as the team travels to take Bemidji State in a weekend series.
The 50-year-old head coach reportedly missed practice this week. A statement from the University noted they expect Frost back behind the bench for next weekend's home-and-home series against Minnesota State.
No details have been provided by the U regarding the nature of Frost's medical situation.
Minnesota are 16-5-1 overall this season with a 10-5-1 WCHA record as they head into the weekend games against Bemidji State.
Frost has been the head coach of the Gophers women's hockey team since 2007 sporting an all-time 373-65-31 record.
