Former Gophers libero Kylie Murr selected in Pro Volleyball Federation draft

The two-time All-Big Ten selection was picked by Las Vegas Monday.

Kylie Murr’s volleyball career is moving on to the next chapter.

The former Gophers libero was selected in the third round — No. 21 overall — of the inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation draft Monday by the Las Vegas Thrill.

Murr played four seasons at Ohio State and became the program’s all-time digs leader (1,935) before transferring to Minnesota for her redshirt senior season in 2023. She starter all 30 matches for the Gophers and earned AVCA All-North Region and first team All-Big Ten honors.

It was her second time earning first-team All-Big Ten honors (2022).

Murr ranks second all-time in Big Ten history with 2,404 career digs.

The Pro Volleyball Federation, announced on Nov. 24, 2022, and founded by Super Bowl-winning quarterback Trent Dilfer and volleyball pioneers Cecile Reynaud and Laurie Corbelli, is a project aimed at giving American players access to high-level volleyball while also making a livable wage.

The seven-team league is set to begin its inaugural season on Jan. 24. It has plans to expand to 10 teams in 2025.
