Morning Bell, May 8, 2024: The Lady Bulldogs Kickoff Their SEC Softball Run

The 2024 SEC softball tournament gets started today for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and they have a great chance to make some noise in the tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs finished their season 33-17 with a 12-12 conference. With the format of win and advance, MSU has one of the best offensive teams in the conference and when they are rolling they can match anyone. The pitching has been outstanding for most of the season and the only time the Bulldogs don't perform is when the offense goes ice cold. But that is a rarity as most games can be a light show from the plate.
State has won at least one SEC Tournament game in two of its three appearances under head coach Samantha Ricketts. They look to continue their winning ways in the tournament as the six seed as they take on No. 11 seeded South Carolina.
