• Mississippi State recorded an all-time high Graduation Success Rate (GSR) according to the latest NCAA report, based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 2013-14 to 2016-17. Bulldog student-athletes earned a GSR of 91 percent, the seventh straight year they earned a score of 87 percent or better. Men's basketball, women's golf, softball, women's tennis, women's cross country and track and field, and volleyball all earned perfect scores of 100.

• The 39th annual Butkus Award honoring the nation’s best collegiate linebacker was presented to North Carolina State University middle linebacker Payton Wilson. Per award tradition, the award was given in a surprise for the winner. Mississippi State's Nathaniel Watson was one of the finalists, along with Clemson's Jeremiah Trotter Jr.,  Missouri's Ty'Ron Hopper, and Washington's Edefuan Ulofoshio.

• According to a calendar sent out by the Ole Miss Alumni Association, the annual Egg Bowl matchup with Mississippi State will remain on Thanksgiving Day next year. The SEC schedule is set to be released on Wednesday.
