Did You Notice?

  • Mississippi State will be represented by Sema'J Daniels (track and field) and Riley Hull (softball) at the Southeastern Conference's Career Tour in Atlanta next week. It's the seventh time (2016-19, 21-23) student-athletes from each SEC university will convene for the tour leading up to the SEC Football Championship Game.
  • Per Pro Football Focus, former first-round draft pick Charles Cross earned the top pass-blocking grade among all offensive linemen in the league last week at 90.7. Cross did not allow a sack or a single pressure in 42 passing downs by the Seahawks in their 17-16 victory over the Rams.

  • Women's soccer was No. 14 in the latest TopDrawerSoccer Top 25. It's the first time Mississippi State will finish a season ranked.

  • During his radio show Tuesday night, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin said his team has been preparing for the Egg Bowl with cowbells playing loudly from the teams practice field sound system. He also wondered why it’s legal for cowbells to be rang at all.

Quote of the Day:

"I'm not going to say too much, but if you're from Mississippi and you've played in it and I'm pretty sure you've watched this game… you already know what's about to go down" — defensive end De'Monte Russell.
