How to Watch: Mississippi State at Georgia Tech in ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge

The inaugural ACC/SEC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Challenge matches the two leagues up against each other this week.

So, it's nothing against that league to the west. You know, the one in which the two biggest names are in the process of leaving for the Southeastern Conference. The Big 12 might be as good, or better, than any other other in terms of recent play and success on the court. But in terms of name power, the Atlantic Coast Conference is tough to beat.

Factor in that the ACC and SEC both have extensive broadcast agreements with ESPN, and one has to wonder what took so long in making the ACC/SEC Basketball Challenge a reality.

Regardless, the inaugural showdown between leagues will feature eight ranked teams on the men's side, and "just" three Final Four women's teams from last season.

One of the games to tip-off the whole thing will be No. 21 Mississippi State at Georgia Tech, the first true road contest of the 2023-24 season for the Bulldogs. It'll be the 30th all-time meeting between the former SEC rivals. Georgia Tech holds a 16-13 advantage with the two teams splitting the last 10 in the series.
