Mississippi State basketball recaptured a lot of momentum Saturday against Auburn after a frustrating 79-70 loss at Florida last week. The Bulldogs will be looking for their first road win of the year when they head to Ole Miss to face their biggest rival on Tuesday evening.

The Rebels have played well at home and are looking for revenge after MSU swept the series last year. This will be the most highly contested matchup the rivals have had in several years, as both teams have legit shots to make the NCAA tournament.

Series: MSU has control of this rivalry series 149-119. The first meeting came on February 25, 1914.

Last meeting: The Bulldogs defeated the Rebels 69-61 in overtime at Oxford. MSU outscored the Rebels 13-5 in the overtime period and were led by Tolu Smith, who scored 17.

Last time out, Rebels: Ole Miss got a tough 71-68 road win over Texas A&M.

Last time out, Bulldogs: The Bulldogs got their second top-ten win of the season over Auburn. MSU got a pair of good performances from Josh Hubbard and Cameron Matthews.
