Two Missouri Players Earn SEC Honors Against South Carolina
Missouri running back Cody Schrader won the SEC Offensive Player of the Week award after rushing 26 times for a season-high 159 yards and two touchdowns against South Carolina. This was the fourth time this season that he broke 100 yards on the ground.
Heading into the game, Schrader had the second-most rushing yards with 648. When the final whistle blew, he became the new No. 1, passing Kentucky running back Ray Davis, who had 781. Nevertheless, the Wildcats are on an open week, and Schrader is now just 26 yards ahead.
Schrader's several long gains may have been Missouri's most effective way of scoring 34 points in their dominant win. Schrader was a major factor in continuing the Tigers' best start to a season (7-1) since 2013.
Schrader wasn't the only Tiger that won a weekly award, as Javon Foster took home the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week award as well. Foster was the highest-graded member of the front-five, and the team didn't allow a single sack against South Carolina. Schrader's performance was heavily impacted by Foster and the rest of the offensive line.
Foster also made way for Missouri quarterback Brady Cook, who was given plenty of time to throw for 198 yards and a touchdown, but also ran for 64 and another score.
