Missouri Softball vs Auburn Game 3: Live Updates

After taking the first two games of its series against No. 25/25 Auburn, No. 12/12 Missouri softball will look for its 20th win of the season in the second game of a three-game series against the Tigers from the South.
A win today would mark Missouri's first series sweep of an SEC team since Apr. 29-May 1, when the Tigers swept Texas A&M.
How it Happened
- KK McCrary leads off with a well-hit single into right, then advances to second on a sacrifice bunt.
- Kayley Lenger makes a nice running catch in foul territory, but McCrary advances to third.
- Laurin Krings gets out of a jam with a strikeout to end the inning. Auburn had runners on second and third with two outs, but Amelia Lech got blown away by Krings for the third out.
- Jenna Laird leads off the bottom of the first with a two-strike single up the middle.
- Laird's attempted steal of second is originally called safe, but upon a challenge from Auburn, Laird is called out.
- Julia Crenshaw hits a high fly ball to deep left field, but Abbey Smith corralled it at the warning track for the third out of the inning.
- Krings ends the top of the second with another swinging strikeout. She's got three through two innings.
- Maddie Gallagher makes it to second base with one out in the bottom of the second with a little help from Auburn. A ground ball to Lech at first base was booted, and it scurried into foul territory, allowing Gallagher to take two bases.
- Maddie Penta ends the second inning with back-to-back strikeouts. Still scoreless here at Mizzou Softball Complex.
- Auburn gets on the board with an RBI triple from Makayla Packer. It was a fly ball into shallow left field, and Chantice Phillips' diving attempt came up short. 1-0 Auburn.
- Laird gets on base with a full-count, two-out single in the bottom of the third, but Honnold immediately grounds out to end the inning.
- Marissa McCann relieves Krings to start the top of the fourth. Krings allowed three hits and a run while striking out three.
- On McCann's sixth pitch of the afternoon, Lech hits a fly ball that barely clears the fence in left field. 2-0 Auburn.
- McCann just snared a line drive right back at her and doubled up Icess Tresvik at first base.
- Missouri just pulled off a double play in the bottom of the fifth. McCann threw a strikeout, and the runner on first left early on a steal attempt.
- Krings is back in the game. Remember, softball pitchers can come back into the game after they've subbed out.
- Mya Dodge is now in left field for Missouri, and Madison Walker is at first base.
- On the second pitch of the inning, Walker's diving attempt to corral a ground ball fails, and Auburn has a runner on second with no outs.
- Amelia Lech goes yard for the second time today. This time, it's a two-run home run that clears the hill in left field. 4-0 Auburn.
- Taylor Pannell enters the game for Krings with runners on first and second and no outs.
- Honnold saves a couple of runs with a running catch in left center field, stranding two Auburn base runners to end the top of the sixth.
- Katie Chester reaches base with a walk in the bottom of the seventh.
- Mya Dodge hits a bloop single into center field to keep the home Tigers alive.
- Pinch-hitter Stefania Abruscato strikes out to end the game.
- FINAL: Auburn 4, Missouri 0.
