The "Japanese Steph Curry" put on a show on national television Thursday night.
Keisei Tominaga, in his final appearance in a Nebraska uniform, won the Hanes Originals Soft Touch Men's 3-Point Championship. The event kicked off the men's Final Four weekend in Arizona.
Tominaga had the top score in the first round with 25 points. He hit his final shot with a dose of showmanship.
He then needed to hit his final money ball in the semifinals to notch 24 points and secure a spot in the finals. Again, he calmly let the clock run down before launching the shot.
Needing to beat 17 points from Hofstra's Tyler Thomas in the finals, Tominaga got to 18 on the third ball of his final rack before finishing with 19 points and a title.
Then in the Skechers Battle of the Champions, Tominaga faced off against the women’s winner, Sara Scalia from Indiana. Scalia shot first, posting a score of 16. Tominaga answered with a 20 to take another crown.
Tominaga will also play in the Reese's NABC All-Star Game at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Friday. The game will air on the CBS Sports Network at 5:30 p.m. CDT.
