Nebraska Women Fall to Oregon State in NCAA Second Round
Huskers' basketball season ends with 61-51 loss in Corvallis
Nebraska women's basketball's season has come to a close.
NU, the No. 6 seed in the region, fell Sunday afternoon to No. 3 seed Oregon State 61-51 in Corvallis, Oregon . The Huskers close the season at 23-12 while the Beavers improve to 26-7.
Nebraska shot 31.3% for the game, including 4-of-20 from 3. Oregon State shot 40.7%, including 10-of-33 from deep.
Jaz Shelley was the only Husker to score in double figures, finishing with 10 points to go with seven assists and six rebounds. Alexis Markowski had eight points and eight rebounds.
Talia von Oelhoffen, Raegan Beers and Timea Gardiner did the most damage for Oregon State, scoring 19, 17 and 10 points, respectively. The Beavers bolted to a 19-6 lead in the first quarter, and the Huskers never cut the margin to fewer than five points. OSU led by as many as 17 in the fourth quarter.
The 2023-24 season was the best under coach Amy Williams in Lincoln, with the second-most wins of her tenure, a conference championship appearance, and an NCAA Tournament win for the first time in a decade.
