Doc's Diagnosis: A Fake Punt Done Right
Nebraska kept a first-quarter possession alive with a bit of well-conceived and well-executed trickery against Maryland
Facing fourth-and-5 at their own 38 yard line, the Huskers took advantage of Maryland's tendencies and pulled off a successful fake punt Saturday. The snap went to Nate Boerkircher instead of the punter, and Boerkircher had clear sailing as he angled left for an 11-yard gain. In this edition of Doc's Diagnosis, Dr. Rob Zatechka analyzes the play and explains why it worked so well.
