Huskers Are Pushed Hard During 10th Practice of Spring

Three days after full scrimmage, Nebraska football head coach Matt Rhule likes how team responded

A portion of Tuesday's Nebraska football practice was open to the media. What reporters saw was the Husker staff pushing players hard three days after the first full scrimmage of spring.

“I told the coaches, ‘Hey, let’s get after them today, let’s coach hard today, let’s push them today. ... I was really happy today with them bouncing back,” head coach Matt Rhule said.

“We are always going to practice physically,” Rhule said. “How do you master your craft in this game if you don’t do it? ... Our job is to make sure we have a good team. We’re 5-7. We have to practice.”

Rhule said he was pleased with Saturday's scrimmage.

“I thought we protected the ball well, which is the first thing. We’re on a mission to be in the positive territory in turnover margins. ... There’s a lot of things to work on, but a lot of positive things. I think we’ve made a lot of strides in a short amount of time.”

Also speaking Tuesday were assistant coach Garret McGuire and three of his wide receivers, Isiah Neyor, Alex Bullock and Jaylen Lloyd.
