Ohio State Buckeyes WR Marvin Harrison Jr. Praised by Penn State Nittany Lions Coach James Franklin

Franklin complimented the junior receiver's unique balance of size and body control, as well as his ability to make a variety of plays for the Ohio State Buckeyes.

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes take on their highest-ranked opponent of the season on Saturday when the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions come to town.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Nittany Lions coach James Franklin complimented Buckeyes receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., saying the junior's unique blend of size and speed made him dangerous on the field.

"The thing that jumps out to me is his body control and ball skills," Franklin said. "He's got the ability to contort his body in the positions and catch the ball effortlessly."

Harrison is averaging almost 11 yards per reception against opponents ranked in the Associated Press Top 25. In Ohio Stadium, where Franklin and the Nittany Lions will attempt to stop him this weekend, the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-native averages just under 23 yards per catch.

Harrison has broken his career-long reception record twice this season (both times at Ohio State's home venue), but Franklin said the most dangerous aspect of the receiver's game is his ability to make smaller plays consistently.

"You watch him on tape and he's got good size, but when you see him in person, he's a big dude," Franklin said. "He just has consistently made plays, obviously he makes spectacular plays but he also makes the routine plays."

The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes and No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions kick off at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 21. Live coverage of the game will air nationally on FOX, and locally over the Ohio State Sports Network from Learfield.
