Oklahoma OL Enters Transfer Portal
On Monday morning, Oklahoma redshirt junior offensive lineman Nate Anderson announced that he will enter the transfer portal.
Anderson spent four years in Norman, originally arriving on campus in 2020. Coming out of Reedy High School (TX), the interior lineman was rated the No. 67 overall player and the No. 2 offensive guard in the nation.
Despite being a coveted recruit, Anderson didn't record a start for the Sooners and played sparingly. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 309 pounds, Anderson will have two years of eligibility remaining after taking a redshirt year and dealing with a COVID-altered season earlier in his career.
The native Texan was at Oklahoma for the transition from Lincoln Riley to Brent Venables and chose to stick around in Norman for two seasons after the head coach who initially recruited him left for USC.
Anderson is the second OU player to enter the transfer portal today and the fifth total since the end of the regular season. Earlier this morning, star quarterback Dillon Gabriel announced that he will also enter the portal.
Gabriel and Anderson join DJ Graham, Jason Llewellyn, Tawee Walker and Marcus Hicks as departures from Venables' program.
