After a rough start, Oklahoma State’s quarterback had an impressive end to the season.

While it took three games of a three-quarterback rotation to land on Alan Bowman as the permanent guy, he shined for OSU to end the season. The sixth-year quarterback was outstanding in OSU’s Texas Bowl win against Texas A&M.

According to Pro Football Focus, Bowman had the sixth-highest-graded performance by an offensive player in a bowl game. With a grade of 86.8 out of 100, the quarterback’s outing in Houston was one to remember.

Bowman ended his first, and potentially only, season as a Cowboy with his biggest game. He threw for 402 yards, his most against an FBS opponent since his freshman season at Texas Tech.

Offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn relied on his quarterback to carry the offense alongside Ollie Gordon II. Bowman threw 49 passes, completing 34, both season highs.

Although Bowman threw two interceptions, he also threw two touchdowns. Both of his touchdown passes went to one of his most reliable targets, Rashod Owens.

Owens went for 164 yards on 10 catches. Throw in Brennan Presley, and the Cowboys’ one-two punch accounted for nearly 75% of Bowman’s completions.

Presley set an OSU bowl game record with 16 catches and was one of Bowman’s reliable options throughout the season. In 2023, Bowman threw for 3,460 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Bowman had some other signature performances with OSU outside of his big performance to end the year against Texas A&M. None were more important than his big game against Oklahoma.

In the final scheduled Bedlam matchup, Bowman had one of his five 300-yard games, going for 334 yards. He also found the end zone with his legs, getting his second rushing touchdown of the season.

While Bowman’s future is up in the air, if he only has one season in Stillwater, it will be remembered for a long time.
