Oklahoma State Starting Safety to Return For 2024 Football Season
This time last year, Oklahoma State was recouping as much talent as possible for a new football season as they were plagued with transfers leaving the team. The transfer portal is one of the busiest times in the college football calendar.
This year, though, things have gone much better for the Cowboys in the transfer portal season. Not only have the transfer-outs been minimal, but the Cowboys have been finding help through transfer-ins.
Even better for Oklahoma State, though, has been the amount of players to announce their return to the program for the 2024 college football season. The entire starting offense is returning and key defenders have begun announcing their return.
The most recent defender to announce their return to Stillwater is Kendal Daniels, one of the Cowboys' starting safeties. He announced his decision with a snippet from the movie "Tombstone."
Daniels was a playmaker for the Cowboys this past season. He finished the year with 105 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions. The 6-foot-4, 195-pound safety is going to be a great player in the team's defense next season.
Collin Oliver, Xavier Ross and Daniels are three key defenders to have announced their return to Stillwater, helping the defense at each of the three levels.
Heading into a new season, Bryan Nardo is gearing up for a good second year as the Cowboys' defensive coordinator. He established his 3-3-5 defensive scheme this past season, and things were rocky to start the season. After some time, though, the defense started to show some serious flashes of potential.
The potential of the Cowboys in the 2024 season is limitless. They're returning plenty of players on both sides of the ball on a team that went 10-4 with a Texas Bowl win and appearance in the Big 12 title game.
