The Oklahoma State Cowboys have made their mark on the season despite starting 2-2 on the season with losses to South Alabama to Iowa State. They're bowl-eligible with a shot at making the Big 12 Championship game.

A big part of the team's turnaround on the season has been the offensive line and Ollie Gordon opening everything up offensively. After barely touching the ball with minimal snaps through the first three games of the season, Gordon has taken the country by storm as he is the nation's rushing yards leader.

While no one on the team had anything going against UCF, the five games before that -- all wins -- helped the Cowboys and Gordon earn an immense amount of respect in the college football scene.

Before the blowout loss to UCF, Gordon had been gaining some Heisman Trophy buzz. He was slowly working himself into the conversation. The last running back to win the award was Derrick Henry, a former Alabama star who now plays with the Tennessee Titans.

Naturally, Gordon's resume on the season is being drawn back to Henry's when he won the award in 2015. The two had eerily similar stat lines through their first nine games of their respective seasons.

The Titans' social media team asked players about their favorite college football players across the nation. Henry's initial answer was Alabama's Jalen Milroe.

"Jalen Milroe, going crazy. [He] just had six touchdowns last game, should be in the Heisman conversation," Henry said. "And number two, Ollie Gordon. Two ballers right there."

This is high praise from the last running back to win the premier award in college football. While the three games to start the season really hurt Gordon's resume due to the lack of playing time, he's got a full season next year to make a run at the award and follow suit with Henry as running backs to win the Heisman.
