Cincinnati vs. Oklahoma State: Three Key Players

Look out for these three Cowboys to make a big impact against Cincinnati.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys will look to make it four straight wins when it takes on the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Boone Pickens Stadium.

Several players will have to step up for OSU to take the victory against the Bearcats. Here are three players to look out for on Saturday.

Ollie Gordon

Oklahoma State's offense has run through Gordon these last few games. He has rushed for over 100 yards in four straight games, including 282 yards and four touchdowns against West Virginia. Gordon’s performances over the past two weeks have come with recognition, for he has been named the Doak Walker National Player of the Week for two straight weeks.

Cincinnati will counter that with its stout rush defense. The Bearcats come in ranked 18th in the country in rushing defense and 46th in total defense.  If Gordon and the offensive line can get going, look for similar numbers from Oklahoma State’s offense.

Brennan Presley

Presley has come around in the previous two games. He has recorded two touchdowns in the last two games, including 8.4 yards per reception in those two games combined.

Mike Gundy has said it all along, Presley needs to get the ball more, and he has. Offensive coordinator Kasey Dunn has found creative ways to get Presley the ball in space. When that happens, Presley is hard to get down. Cincinnati is 92nd in the country in passing yards allowed. If Alan Bowman gets going, Presley will as well.

Nick Martin

Martin has been excellent for the Cowboys this season. He racked up 17 tackles last week against the Mountaineers, which brings his total to 71 tackles on the season. Martin has already recorded 17 tackles this season, for he did that against Kansas State earlier this season.

Cincinnati is just like the last three teams OSU has faced; it loves to run the football. Emory Jones and Corey Kiner have rushed for 971 yards this season, which is good for 60% of the Bearcats rushing yards this season. With the duo running attack for Cincinnati, look for Martin to fill those run gaps and cause problems for the Bearcats.
