Is Oklahoma State Facing a Trap Game Against Cincinnati?

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are rolling as of late, but is their matchup on Saturday a trap game?

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have the opportunity to win their fourth straight matchup. They host the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday at 7 p.m., which will be broadcast on ESPN2, as the Cowboys look to secure bowl eligibility.

It's crazy for the Cowboys to be a touchdown favorite in any game, given how their first four weeks of play went. With a perfectly timed bye week and adjustments from the Cowboys, a season turnaround happened and they're now a real threat in the Big 12.

Are the Cowboys in for a trap game, though? It's hard for Oklahoma State not to be eager for Oklahoma next week. It's the final Bedlam -- for now, at least -- as the Sooners are set to take off to the Southeastern Conference next season.

While Mike Gundy doesn't seem to be looking ahead, this doesn't mean the players won't be. It's a big game. Can the defense stop the Sooners' air raid? Can Ollie Gordon shine once again, though this time on the biggest stage of his career?

There are so many questions about the final Bedlam that can't be answered until the time comes. So, for the players, the challenge is to focus on the matchup ahead and work on preparing for the big matchup against OU next week, when that time comes.

The Bearcats are hungry for their first Big 12 win, too. They're 0-4 in conference play. They began their Big 12 journey against Oklahoma, where they played some incredible defense. Can they emulate that against the Cowboys?

One aspect of the game where Gundy praised the Bearcats is their front seven, and they can make life difficult for the offensive line and Gordon, which could change the offense's ability to move the ball or complete drives in the red zone.

This certainly feels like a game that could have a threatening fourth quarter for the Cowboys if they're not careful, and taking care of business with a quick start will be important in this one.
