OSU Softball Duo Named to D1 Softball Preseason Top 100 List

Pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl and catcher Caroline Wang crack D1 Softball's Preseason Top 100 List.

Two Oklahoma State Softball players have earned honors before the season.

Pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl and catcher Caroline Wang have earned a spot on D1 Softball's Preseason Top 100 list.

Kilfoyl, who secured a spot on the Second Team All-Big 12 last season, settled in at no. 38 on the list.

Wang, who transferred to Oklahoma State this offseason, came in at No. 82 on the list.

Kilfoyl put up solid numbers last season. She posted a 1.70 ERA with 130 strikeouts in her first stint with the Cowgirls.

This season, Kilfoyl's role will increase, for pitcher Kelly Maxwell transferred to Oklahoma this offseason.

Kilfoyl won't be alone as Kyra Aycock returns to the Cowgirl pitching staff after a terrific freshman season.

Aycock finished with a 2.51 ERA last season with the Cowgirls, including 65 strikeouts and only 26 walks.

Wang comes into Oklahoma State after catcher Taylor Tuck graduated in 2023, giving the Cowgirls experience behind the plate.

The Senior came from Liberty, where she was a two-time ASUN Player of the Year.

Wang was consistent in her time at Liberty, recording 35 home runs and 135 RBIs in her career at Liberty.

Last season was a special one for Wang as she led the ASUN conference in home runs, RBIs, batting average and doubles in 2023.

With the duo of Maxwell and Tuck gone for OSU, Kilfoyl and Wang will be the new battery that Kenny Gajewski and his staff will rely on this season.

The 2024 season begins in California, where Oklahoma State takes on Cal-State Northridge on Feb. 8, before participating in the Lynn Russell Miller Classic Feb. 9-11 at Riverside, California.
