'Figure It Out!' Mike Bianco Wants Ole Miss Rebels Baseball to Stick Together During 'Awful' Losing Streak

The Ole Miss Rebels were swept at home by the Kentucky Wildcats in run-rule fashion on Sunday afternoon.

The Ole Miss Rebels have hit the skids in recent weeks, having just been swept by the visiting Kentucky Wildcats on Easter Weekend and falling to 3-6 in Southeastern Conference play.

The Rebels dropped Sunday's series finale against Kentucky by a final score of 15-1, and head coach Mike Bianco is looking for answers along with his team. How can Ole Miss turn this around with a difficult road trip to Fayetteville on the horizon next weekend?

"We gotta figure it out, at the end of the day," Bianco said. "We talk about chemistry and leadership and all these different things, this'll test you. When you're awful and you play bad, can you stick together?

"This tests everybody's mettle. This is tough. We haven't played well. We have no excuses. That's on me, that's on the team. We have to be better to compete in this league."

The Rebels opened SEC play on a positive note earlier this month, taking two of three from the South Carolina Gamecocks at Swayze Field in Oxford. That was followed by salvaging one game last weekend in Knoxville against the Tennessee Volunteers, but that's understandable. It's hard to win on the road in the SEC, and sitting at .500 is respectable after two series.

Then, the wheels fell off this week, at least for the time being. Over the course of three days, Ole Miss was outscored 37-13 at home this weekend by the Wildcats, and while Kentucky is certainly a good team, this type of performance won't get you far within the SEC.

The Rebels travel to Memphis on Tuesday for a midweek bout against the Tigers before hitting the road to take on Arkansas next weekend.
