'Identity!' Coach Yo Reveals Ideal Play Style For Ole Miss Women's Basketball

Ole Miss Rebels coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin highlighted her ideal identity for her team this season after a win over the Georgia Bulldogs.

The Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team claimed a 69-59 win over the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday in Athens, bouncing back from a road loss at Mississippi State a week prior.

Following the game, Rebels head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin discussed what her ideal "identity" is for this team, and it revolves around defense.

"It was a great game for us to get back to our identity," McPhee-McCuin said. "We had two quarters where we had a slow start defensively, and see how we can fix that, but holding them to nine points in the second and 13 in the fourth is what I want Ole Miss women's basketball to look like. Just grateful that we got the win."

The first and third quarters on Sunday saw Georgia reach 18 and 19 points respectively in those frames, and Ole Miss is currently surrendering 55.6 points per game this season.

The Rebels will return to action at home this week when they play host to the 10-6 (1-3 SEC) Florida Gators on Thursday at the SJB Pavilion. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
