"We are excited to add a high-quality coach like Bryan Brown to our staff," head coach Lane Kiffin said in a school-issued statement. "He has deep Ole Miss roots as a player, and as a coach, he has proven himself multiple times to be one of the top defensive coaches and recruiters in the nation. He has a proven pedigree, and I think it continues to show our commitment to making Ole Miss Football a national program that competes at the highest level on both sides of the ball."

Brown spent time as a graduate assistant with the Delta State Statesmen in Cleveland, Miss., before which he began his coaching career with the Rutgers Scarlett Knights in 2008. He has a previous stint in Oxford, serving as both a graduate assistant and defensive administrative assistant at Ole Miss during the 2010 and 2011 seasons.

Other stops in his college coaching history include Appalachian State (2012-18), Louisville (2019-22) and Cincinnati (2023).
