Bracketology Watch: ESPN Analyst Needs to See More from Pitt

PITTSBURGH -- A loss on the road to Virginia Tech didn't knock the Pitt Panthers out of the NCAA Tournament but it did mean they will have to continue sweating out the final two weeks of the regular season. ESPN's John Gasaway was concerned with how the Pitt defense looked this weekend.
"Don't be fooled by the Panthers recording a season-low for makes from beyond the arc (3-of-18) in their seven-point loss at Virginia Tech," He wrote in his latest Bubble Watch analysis. "That level of accuracy's not desirable, certainly, but Pitt's six-game win streak is gone because the Hokies put up 79 points in just 64 possessions."
Gasaway still thinks the Panthers' current body of work will be good enough to get them into the Big Dance, but their seeding is on the line over the final four games of the regular season and the ACC Tournament.
"Prior to suffering its first defeat in almost a month, Jeff Capel's team was being pegged variously as a No. 9 or No. 10 seed," Gasaway said. "A favorable remaining schedule affords the 19-8 Panthers a fair chance of winning three of their next four heading into the ACC tournament."
