Pitt Appears in New National Rankings from Andy Katz

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are off to a hot start, earning a pair of blowout victories in their first two games of the 2023-24 season.
They haven't exactly faced a murder's row to open this season but against North Carolina A&T and Binghamton, the Panthers more than took care of business, owning an average margin of victory 38.5 points. And with that dominance has come national attention from college basketball insider Andy Katz, who ranked Pitt in his weekly Power 36 rankings.
"Carlton Carrington had a triple-double in his Pitt debut and the Panthers haven't missed a step after a two-win NCAA tournament run last March," Katz said of the undefeated Panthers.
No. 36 Pitt is one of just six ACC squads ranked in the Power 36, trailing only No. 8 Miami, No. 10 Duke, No. 26 Virginia and No. 28 North Carolina. This is the Panthers' first appearance in these rankings.
