The Pitt Panthers will be looking to set the tone on Saturday, and they are favorites to do so. Meanwhile, Cincinnati is feeling confident after beating Eastern Kentucky 66-13 last week. Pitt, however, also won big over Wofford with a score of 45-7. Pitt likely gets the edge here due to home field, and the fact that Cincinnati has a brand new head coach in Scott Satterfield. Picks for Cincinnati Bearcats vs. Pittsburgh Panthers: CFB This Week
On Saturday 9/9, we should be in for a great battle between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh on a beautiful day in the City Of Bridges. This game will be played at Acrisure Stadium, home of the Steelers. Both of these teams have plenty of talent, which they certainly showcased last week in their first games which resulted in massive blowouts. Both defenses held their opponents to minimal points and will be tested a lot more this Saturday by two very solid offenses and quarterbacks.
First, let’s look at this Cincinnati offense. Starting with QB Emory Jones, won the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week last week, thanks to a very impressive showing. Jones was 19 of 23 passing for 345 yards. He had five touchdowns passing with no interceptions in the dominant performance. He also made school history by scoring twice on the ground for a total of seven touchdowns, which is a Cincinnati record. Jones has a lot of experience in college football, as he’s racked up over 50 touchdowns in his college career.
Another key player for the Bearcats is Xzavier Henderson, a wide receiver who racked up 149 yards last week on seven receptions with a touchdown. He most likely won’t be able to put up numbers like this against Pitt, whose defense will be keyed in on him.
Now, let’s dive into this Panthers team. Their QB is Phil Jurkovec who was able to go 17 of 23 passing for 214 yards last week. He rushed for a TD and also had one through the air. Pittsburgh may not have the quarterback advantage in this one, but they have a balanced attack offensively. This includes RB Daniel Carter who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown last week, along with a very large sample size of receivers. Pitt had five players with over 30 yards receiving in last week’s win, which means they have plenty of options for Cincinnati to worry about.
Defensively, we haven’t seen these squads get battle-tested yet, so our Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh picks are mainly based on offense and home-field. Both defenses seemed balanced and stable against their FCS opponents, but things won’t be as easy this week. Pittsburgh did, however, hold Wofford to only seven points. The Pitt fans will be fired up for this home game against an old rival, and we like them to win this one by more than a touchdown thanks to their offense spreading the ball around and getting everyone involved.

CFB Best Bets & Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh Predictions for Saturday Including Pittsburgh -7 (-114)
As previously stated, we’re going to ride with the home team Panthers here and lay the points in our official Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh picks for Saturday. Despite his impressive performance last week, we believe QB Emory Jones will be overwhelmed by a talented Pitt defense, and he’ll potentially make some mistakes that will help Pittsburgh win the game somewhat comfortably, pulling away in the second half.
This is a good matchup and -7 may seem like a large spread here, but it’s a gamble worth taking on this Pitt squad who want to prove to themselves and their fans that they’re a force this season.

Pitt Football Score Last Week
Last week, Pitt came out victorious in their 45-7 win over Wofford. Cincinnati will be a much tougher opponent, but Pitt looked sharp and we like them to win by more than a touchdown again here at Acrisure.
