Gamecocks Set To Hire Mike Furrey As Wide Receiver Coach Per Reports
Per Reports, South Carolina is set to hire former NFL wide receiver and Limestone head football coach Mike Furrey as its new wide receivers coach. Furrey, who spent four seasons as the wide receivers coach for the Chicago Bears, will be joining the Gamecocks' staff to replace James Coley.
Coley was recently hired by South Carolina but left for a coaching position at Georgia before the ink was dry. Furrey brings a wealth of experience, having played eight years in the NFL with teams like the St. Louis Rams and the Detroit Lions. He also has coaching experience, including two seasons at Kentucky Christian University and three at Marshall University.
With Furrey joining the staff, South Carolina's coaching staff is complete and ready for the upcoming season.
