Five 2025 Recruits That Stanford Fans Need To Know

After making the jump from the FCS level, there were questions if Troy Taylor would be able to recruit at the level needed for Stanford to be successful.

In his first full season on the job, Taylor and his staff were able to assemble the No. 30 class in the country and certainly bolstered the roster in all the right places. They landed a quarterback of the future in consensus four-star Elijah Brown, talent across the defensive line in four-stars Benedict Umeh and Dylan Stephenson, and also landed a trio of offensive linemen to help revive what was one of the thinnest units in the country.

With the program looking to be heading in the right direction, the 2025 class could be even more important in terms of setting the team up for future success. That is why I compiled a list of recruits that Stanford has offered or are pursuing for Stanford fans to know aside from there current three commits.

Chinedu Onyeagoro, EDGE, California

Recruiting Ranking: Four-star, No. 244 player in the country

Getting to the quarterback will always be a priority, and Bobby April III has had his fair share of success in unlocking pass rushers. Chinedu Onyeagoro is someone who has the potential to be a game-wrecker at the college level, and has already taken a trip to Stanford. This past season, he was practically living in the backfield as he racked up 21 sacks and added 30 tackles for a loss. If he could bring even half that production to Stanford, the defensive line unit would be quite intriguing.

Naeshaun Montgomery, WR, Florida

Recruiting Ranking: Four-star, No. 105 player in the country (composite)

You can never have enough pass catchers, and Naeshaun Montgomery is someone who has just about every major program after him. He has track speed, and this past season he had just 16 catches through nine games, but eight of them went for touchdowns. Finding the end zone 50% of the time is never a bad thing. Troy Taylor has shown a willingness to play players young, and having another speedster who can stretch the field will only help the offense.

Isaiah Campbell, DL, North Carolina

Recruiting Ranking: Four-star, No. 66 player in the country

If Stanford can get back to winning in the trenches, they will get back to winning games. Four-star Isaiah Campbell is a dominant force on the defensive line who recorded 110 total tackles, 27 total tackles for a loss, and also racked up 16 sacks this season. Pairing him with a more experienced Benedict Umeh would be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Chuck McDonald III, CB, California

Recruiting Ranking: Four-star, No. 122 player in the country

Just about every college football team in the country has talented receivers, and obviously airing it out is every team's prerogative. Four-star corner Chuck McDonald III has already shown that he has an interest in Stanford by naming them in his top 10, and is someone who has very intriguing coverage skills that should translate to the next level. His track speed will also help him see the field early at a position that Stanford is rebuilding.

Bear Bachmeier, QB, California

Recruiting Ranking: Four-star, No. 181 player in the country (composite)

Stanford has a very intriguing quarterback situation ahead of them in 2024. Ashton Daniels started this past season and had some very bright moments, but was also wildly inconsistent from week to week and at times, reckless. Justin Lamson transferred in from Syracuse and clearly didn't earn Troy Taylor's trust to take the job, but was used as a wildcat quarterback and even receiver. Myles Jackson enrolled a year early and didn't see the field, and Elijah Brown is expected to compete for the job right away. In this day and age, quarterbacks aren't fond of waiting around, meaning Stanford could lose one or two of those names.

Bear Bachmeier is the younger brother of rising star receiver Tiger Bachmeier, and is a true dual threat having thrown for over 5,500 yards and 47 touchdowns to 12 picks, while also adding 25 rushing touchdowns. Stanford needs more depth at every position, and Bachmeier would be the perfect quarterback of the future after Brown.
