WATCH: Former Stanford TE Dalton Schultz Makes Huge Touchdown Catch In Houston Texans Playoff Win
There are quite a few Stanford Cardinal that are in the NFL Playoffs this season, and on Saturday it was former tight end Dalton Schultz getting the ball rolling.
He and the Houston Texans were hosting the Cleveland Browns in the AFC Wild Card, and ended up smashing the Browns by a score of 45-15. While the 30-point final score shows the game was lopsided, it was actually a fairly close game until late in the second quarter. With the Texans leading by just three points, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud launched a pass down the field, hitting a streaking Dalton Schultz in stride for a 37-yard touchdown.
His lone catch of the day not only extended their lead to 24-14, but the Texans went on to score 21 unanswered points thanks to two pick-sixes in the third and a rushing score in the fourth. The Texans ended up beating the Browns so badly that fellow former Cardinal Davis Mills came into the game and even completed a pass.
The Texans do unfortunately have to wait for the results of the other games before they'll know who they are taking on in the next round.
Heading into the playoffs, Schultz had 59 catches for 635 yards and five scores.
