No. 2 Stanford knocks off No. 13 Oregon State, advances to Pac-12 Tournament Final
LAS VEGAS--The comeback kids strike again at the Pac-12 Tournament, as for the second day in a row the Stanford Cardinal found themselves trailing but eventually fighting their way back into it to win.
On Thursday they did it against Cal, winning 71-57 behind Kiki Iriafen's 28 points and 18 rebounds. On Friday, they took down No. 13 Oregon State for the second time in the last eight days. While Pac-12 Player of the Year Cameron Brink and Pac-12 Most Improved Player of the Year Iriafen each provided some scoring against the Beavers, on Friday it was the Hannah Jump game.
After being held scoreless on two shots in 36 minutes on Thursday, Jump exploded for Stanford Friday evening as she helped Stanford overcome a 16-point deficit. She finished with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting while also hitting 4-of-7 three-pointers.
The win helps Stanford advance to the Pac-12 Tournament Final against the winner of No. 5 USC and No. 7 UCLA. The Cardinal got the better of UCLA back in February, winning by a score of 80-60, but were upset by USC in their lone meeting behind JuJu Watkins' 51 points.
The title game will take place on Sunday.
