Men's Basketball Spotlight Game of The Weekend: #13 Baylor at #4 Kansas
The Kansas Jayhawks are undefeated at home as they lay host to the top fifteen-ranked Baylor Bears this weekend.
Baylor is currently second in the conference, only a half-game behind Houston, despite suffering a three-game losing streak last month. The Bears will be led by Ja'Kobe Walter, who is averaging 14.2 points per game and shooting threes at a 34% rate this season. Baylor has the fourth-ranked adjusted offensive efficiency this season according to KenPom, but where the Bears struggle is on defense and rebounding. The Baylor Bears are 75th in adjusted defensive efficiency and 160th in rebounding on the season.
On the other side of the court, the Jayhawks will be led by Kevin McCullar Jr., who averaged 19.5 points per game while shooting 47.2% from the field. Kansas leads the nation in assists per game and is third in the country in shooting percentage, aided by big man Hunter Dickinson, who makes 58.4% of his shots this season.
Kansas, much to the contrary of Baylor, is 18th in the country in adjusted defensive efficiency and 99th in the nation in rebounding this year. The Jayhawks are elite at forcing opponents to take tough shots and will look to do the same thing against a Baylor team that is great at creating space and taking good shots.
