Tennessee offer 'means a lot' to one of the fastest rising prospects in 2021
Over the weekend, Tennessee sent an offer out to 3-Star OLB Raneiria Dillworth. Dillworth is a 6’2 190lbs Outside Linebacker from Kernersville, North Carolina. He plays high school football for Glenn (HS) and is probably one of the fastest rising players in the class of 2021, recently picking up offers from schools such as Auburn, Florida State, Texas A&M. After the offer, VR2's Dale Dowden caught up with Dillworth for an interview about the offer and his interest in Tennessee.
Dillworth said the offer “meant a lot” and he was “very excited" about the Vols joining the fray. He quotes Jeremy Pruitt as the coach on staff he has the best relationship with. It was a matter of time before not only Pruitt but other coaches started to send offers his way, as Dillworth runs a 4.35 40-yard dash which is elite for an outside linebacker. Dillworth quotes his speed and “the ability to play sideline to sideline” as the main component of his game that coaches like about him. I’d fully expect a bump in the rankings to be coming soon, along with camp invites and more offers, which will really heat this recruitment up.
When asked about what he wants to see in not only Tennessee but any school, Dillworth answers “that they recruit me well and make it feel like home on my visit”. It will help Tennessee in that regard, that they have signed players from his state such as Quavaris Crouch and Tyus Fields, that could really help sell the program when he’s on a visit. Dillworth says, “I like that. It means a lot that they believe in people” when asked about other players from his area going to play for Tennessee’s coaches. Dillworth also really likes the direction the team is going in after how they finished winning six in a row and seven of their last eight after starting the year 1-4.
Dillworth plans to take his first visit to Tennessee this weekend on the 18th. This will be a recruitment that will go a very long time, probably all the way to signing day, so it’s good that Pruitt and staff hopped in early. This first visit will be big for both Dillworth and Tennessee because they’ll have the first opportunity to pitch their school after he received all of these new offers, with more likely to come. This is one to watch for Tennessee fans over the next few months.
