Texas Longhorns Football Earn Multiple Spots On CBS Sports Top 100 Players List
The Texas Longhorns roster will once again be one of the best in college football.
The Texas Longhorns have extremely high expectations heading into the 2024 season.
And for good reason.
Across the board, the Horns roster is littered with elite talent, including at the most important positions of the field with quarterback Quinn Ewers, left tackle Kelvin Banks, and multiple talented defensive lineman and edge rushers.
In fact, despite their extensive NFL losses, they still might have an argument for the best roster in America, alongside teams like Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama and Oregon.
On Monday, CBS Sports made that case, counting down their top 100 players in college football, with five Longhorns making the list.

Banks was the first Texas star to make the list, coming in at No. 10, who comes in as the second highest rated tackle behind LSU's Will Campbell.
"Banks has had a solid sophomore year and is still on pace to be one of the better tackles in the country but showed a few cracks with added responsibility and a target on him after an incredible freshman year," CBS Sports wrote. "Still, Banks allowed only one sack and 14 total pressures in 2023 and has what it takes to be one of the top picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. He's tracking to be a first-round pick; Texas has not had an offensive lineman selected in that round since 2002."
Also near the top of the list were receiver Isaiah Bond at No. 14, Ewers at No. 15. Ewers, of course, is considered one of, if not the top returning quarterback in the nation by various outlets.
In this particular instance, he ranks as the fourth-best quarterback behind Colorado's Shedeur Sanders (No. 4), Alabama's Jalen Milroe (No. 7), and Georgia's Carson Beck (No. 8).
"Ewers took his game to another level in 2023. There are no excuses, with a loaded offense around him, to not have one of the best seasons in the country in 2024," CBS Sports wrote. "Could be the most important player in college football with all eyes on him as Texas enters the SEC.
